Even in South Tyrol – Südtirol, which is famed for the broad palette of possibilities that it offers, the Kronplatz region is unique in its variety. The possibilities of relaxation so close to nature are unlimited, as are the athletic opportunities. In winter it is a skiarea with 32 lift facilities, in summer it is a beautiful hiking area.
On top of Kronplatz, there is a panorama tower. Since 2003 it it is the home of peace bell “Concordia 2000”, the 2nd biggest bell in the Alps. But on Kronplatz, there you can find as well a museum: In 2015 the famous extreme climber Reinhold Messner opened his last and 6th museum MMM (Messner Mountain Museum) in South Tyrol.
South Tyrol (de: Südtirol, it: Alto Adige) is a small autonomous province in the North of Italy, on the border to Austria and Switzerland.
It is dominated by high mountains. The highest peak is the Ortler (3,905 m) in the west of South Tyrol. On the east of the province are the famous Dolomites where Kronplatz – Plan de Corones is located.
